First time posting here. I am looking to drink more Italian wines this year and would love to form or join a group that’s interested in Piedmont/Tuscany for regular dinners in the LA area. I am happy to drink anything from $50 to $300+/bottle, young or old, but my intention is to find likeminded Italian wine lovers.
There is a wine dinner at Osteria Mozza on 2/25 @ 6:30pm if anybody is interested. If not, we can pick another date. Weekdays are preferred as I reserve the weekends for family time.
If you don’t get any takers here I suggest just going to the dinner. I think you’ll find exactly what you are looking for- fellow Italian wine lovers who you can share wine with. I haven’t been to that particular wine dinner before, but I was just reading about it and I think it will be a good social environment. I won’t be going as I don’t think the menu justifies the $150 cost. It’s as if they added an extra $40 to the menu to make up for the “free corkage”.
Jumping in here to express interest and follow along. I was disappointed that I couldn’t make it to the Mozza event as that looked like a great time. I’m definitely up for some sort of gathering. Unfortunately, I’m not up to date on whether there are still any BYOB places that would work for such a thing. Perhaps those more in the know could update.
If anyone is down for another Italian outing either 4/2 or 4/9, I am game.
Unfortunately, I don’t think there’s any free corkage Italian restaurants in LA anymore. We can do La Pergoletta in Los Feliz. I think corkage is at $20/bottle.
