LA: Friday, April 17th?

Greetings! As I mentioned in the OC thread, I’ll be out in Southern California next month to do some birding and, as it’s been awhile seen I’ve seen a bunch of the winos out there, I was hoping to bird by day and see some old familiar faces by night. To that end, might anyone be free to get together and pop corks on Friday, April 17th? If so, I’d be most appreciative if a local could find a venue where we can gather.

If you’re unable to make the 17th, I’m also hoping to get together with folks in Orange County on Saturday, the 11th, so maybe that could work for you?

Thanks and I look forward to catching up with a bunch of you!

Brad

Great! Hope you make it! In other news, the nature sanctuary at Mile Square Park we birded six years ago, was mysteriously clised today. Pissed!

Would love to join you Brad but Friday traffic from Ventura County is crazy. Restaurant looks great, and it’s been too long since i’ve seen you.

Ah, sorry you can’t make. It has indeed been awhile! Trying to remember if your trip to NY was before or after the LA dinners when I was here in '10 and '11?

After I think.

Any wine theme or just something good? French? California?

BK prefers Chardonnay and highly extracted Cabs.

Napa cab (WA 95+) incoming! Probably a Sauternes as well.

Haha, My TNC was missed. Old world OG > new world new school. I’m bringing Vouvray and Chinon if that helps.

Ha! Yes, I was wondering if Mark knew you were joking. I’ve got a bottle of '89 Zind Humbrecht- Pinot Gris Clos Jebsal VT chilling in my hotel room fridge.

Btw, just had lovely lunch with Bruce L. He says hello!

Okay, I should have known to never believe you! (Like in the past when you said you were bringing something good and expensive! Ha! ). I’m packing a 2019 Pontet-Canet instead of the 2004 Pride Reserve Cab and still bringing a 375 of 2003 La Tour Blanche Sauternes in case we need another sweet wine. See everyone at 7pm!

Does Juliet have decent stems or do we need to bring our own?
