Just returned from a trip to visit family on Oahu. Took an afternoon to go upcountry to Kunia to do a tour and tasting at Kō Hana Distillery. Wonderful tour of a distillery that grows Hawaiian heritage sugarcane and produces agricole rum. That means they use pressed cane juice instead of molasses for the fermentation. They produce several aged rums but I found their “Kila” was absolutely fantastic at 55% abv.
They’re good - but pricy. I do like the heritage sugarcanes and how they do varietal bottlings so you can see the differences.
