I don’t think this is anything new, though. From the description:
From CT, it looks like this has been going on for a while.

Just opened the 2009 of this tonight. The cork identifies it as Chateau de Sarenceau, which I’m not familiar with. Tastewise, it’s a nice mature right bank bordeaux for $15.
K&L released their Discovery Series Italy of 7 interesting looking shiners they imported. All of the wines should be easily identifiable by foil/cork/ICQRF code.
I picked up the 2022 Barbera d’Alba Superiore that’s clearly produced by Vietto (this wine) and the 2016 Barolo that appears to be made by Boroli (this wine)
If anyone else buys some of these feel free to share what the wines are. There’s definitely some good value here.
United has started serving Shafer One-Point-Five in their business class on international flights. The menu is full of $30-40 bottles, and then that. One of these things is not like the others …
If the wines are not vineyard-sourced, then there’s a serious problem. ![]()
I greatly enjoyed the 2005 alongside a grilled flank steak last weekend. I’m no expert on Bordeaux but to my simple palate the QPR on this is outstanding. I picked up another 1/2 case.
Yeah i asked for refill 3 times
I opened the 2009 Bordeaux over the weekend and it wasn’t good. Moldy top of cork which disintegrated upon opening. No fruit, wet cardboard taste, but still discernible tannins. I assume corked?
I have a will call order to pick up tomorrow. I wonder if K+L will replace this bad bottle?
2016 K&L Discovery Series Bordeaux, St-Estephe is 2016 Lilian Ladouys. Great wine for $25.
It’s funny, I bought the last few bottles of this they had under its own label and was sad when I drank my last one.
How did you determine that this is Lilian Ladouy’s? Is it on the back label or cork or something like that?
Interesting one…
A Legendary Vineyard, a Mysterious Maker, an Unbeatable Price
2023 Anonymous Wine Collective “Pagani Ranch - Ancient Vine” Sonoma Valley Zinfandel (Elsewhere $50) ($19.95)
"Pagani Ranch is one of the most iconic vineyards in the United States.”
— Antonio Galloni, Vinous
agreed, I think this is Ridge
Easy decision to pick up a couple.
Ridge doesn’t indicate any primitivo in their blend, but assuming this is a Ridge, any thoughts on drinking now vs. storing it for a few years?
I’m not familiar with Ridge’s style vs say a Bedrock.
Here’s the link to ‘23 Ridge Pagani. As was just mentioned, that wine’s blend doesn’t match AWC.

Anonymous doesn’t list the blend, just the inclusion of Alicante Bouche and “a Primitivo clone”, which is certainly vague. Ridge comes the closest to me, there aren’t many producers making wine from this vineyard.
It could be the “Norma’s block” version. Even though the blend doesn’t exactly match, those are the oldest vines in the vineyard, hence the “Ancient vine” designation.

The oak regimen matches Norma’s block, but not the regular Pagani. I don’t know where K&L gets the French oak usage from as there’s none in either wine.
None of the Ridge bottlings match that blend or oak usage. It could be a wine that was never released, so we don’t have any information on it. Seghesio? Here are the 2020 specs
Could this be a bottling that was custom-tweaked for K&L, whether by Ridge or somebody else with access to Pagani?
