Planning a trip with family to the region next spring. Likely staying in Arbois. Any recommendations for good wine bars/dinners, with a lean towards drinking as much great local wine as possible?
Hi Jason
I wrote a bit on Jims post; Day trip from Beaune to Arbois? - #2 by MadsW
As I was checking again, I forgot Auberge de Bellevie, which is certainly the best most down to earth eatery, and if you are hunting those rare bottles like Miroirs and Overnoy etc. then there’s no better place in the world.
And really, Claquets is the best bar for tasting what the local young winemakers are up to.
If you want conservative winemaking then the other restaurants got you.
And Arbois is lovely. Puligny is a little bigger.
My on the ground intel is 6 years old, but my wife and I had great dinners at Les Caudalies in Arbois and Grapiot just up the road in Pupillin.
Loved our stay in Arbois and would love to return.
I would echo Mads and Dave, I really loved lunch at Claquets and sitting at the bar drinking wine after. Les Caudailes cheese trolley was one of the greatest things I’ve ever encountered.
