A very interesting list!
That is a great article. Plenty of detail of each wine.
While not negating the validity of the wines on the list, the Napa/Sonoma portion reads like the list of host’s parties he was invited too and friends of his. Most names on that part mirror peoples parties I’ve seen him at.
Is this list 2012 or 2013? I ask as when you go to the main page, it states he won’t be publishing 2013 until Dec 9th.
Bonne has an inquiring mind and a deft palate IMO.
Interesting article - and interesting comments here as well. This is his best of 2013, not 2012 or 2011.
There is no doubt that Jon has styles of wine that he prefers over others, and he likes to ‘push’ those wines over others.
One must also realize that he will only include wines that have ‘good presence’ in the Bay Area, whether at restaurants or retailers. He won’t include wines that are ‘wine club only’ or smaller producers who have no ‘retail’ presence in the market.
All in all, an interesting list that provides some nuggets for those that want to try something a bit off the beaten track.

I’ve tasted and enjoyed a whole lot more wines on this Top 100 than on the WS list.
Majority of those bottles seem to be sub-$35 or so. That’s nice to see.
