JJB Year End Sale Commences

Lots of good deals and a few great ones. Just picked up some 08 Sojourn Pinot Sonoma Coast for $26 per. [cheers.gif]

Some great prices across the board. I picked up 2008 Mongeard-Mugneret Echezeaux VV for $60 and 2004 Gimonnet Special Club for $49.

Tie in the half off gift cards from last week and it makes the deal even sweeter.

Yeah – they must really want to book some year end revenue putting this fresh on the heels of the giftcards…

Tying the two together led to a couple 06 Chapoutier Hermitage Vin de Pailles for 38.59 per…

Woah. Thanks for the tip. The Mongeard Mugneret Echezeaux VV was a no-brainer at that price.

Can you still get the giftcards?

Wow, a lot of the stuff I selected sold out by the time I got through the 56 page list. Rather than being upset about it, I will congratulate myself on my good taste.

I still managed to get a mixed 6 pack.

Someone out there got splits of 2005 Doisy-Vedrines for less than $12 each…it was almost me. [cry.gif]

Some pretty amazing pricing. I snagged a 6er of grand cru burgs for less than 350, a first in my wine buying career!

That said, JJ’s frequent sales makes it hard for me to bite on any of their normal offerings, which I worry isn’t the best long-term practice.

If there is any of this left I highly recommend it. When I stopped by their tasting room in October this was my favorite bottling.

2008 François Chidaine Montlouis-sur-Loire Les Bournais

The site is so slow for me as to be almost useless.

Anyone else experiencing that?

Picked up a case of the 2008 Billaud Simon MdT. Under $25 per bottle after using my 3 half priced gifted cards. Super happy with JJbuckley and their customer service.

It’s always been that way. You have to go page by page through the sale items, taking all kinds of time for each page to load, then adding items you’re interested in to your shopping cart so you can figure out how much of a discount you are really going to get, etc. It’s like a hazing process, but I guess the upshot is that it probably preserves some deals for longer for the diligent.

Can you ask you private buyer contact guy to send you a full list so you don’t have to do battle with the website?

Lots of nice Brunello here… some hilariously good deals even.

Another hilariously good deal - 2009 Talley Rincon Chard for $20 and change. Tanzer 93, the same score I gave it at a tasting at the winery recently.

I love this shop, but they have the most ridiculously dysfunctional website on earth. I gave up.

I did but the things I was interested in are now sold out.

+1
We were there in October as well, brought a bottle home with us, and just snagged a couple more

Does the website let anyone check out at all recently? Been trying to buy stuff for the last 30 minutes, and every time I get to the last screen (click Yes, Complete Purchase!), I get an error page. And they’re closed now too… so that’s not too helpful.

edit: After trying 3 more times, I finally got through. Just have to be persistent with the order page!

Ugh, there were two bottles of 1969 BV and the last one sold literally while I was looking over the list.
