Jay Miller score right on the back label....

So, I’m making a menu for a promotional tasting we are putting on with the Wines of Spain and Region of Extremadura on Monday night and I look at the back of a bottle to get the blend and see this:

“…a glass-coating, opaque purple color, it offers up an inviting bouquet of smoke, game, violets, pepper, blueberry and blackberry. Sweetly-fruity, round, and plush on the palate, this is a pleasure bent, lengthy offering that will drink for a decade…” Jay Miller, TWA

All that and he only gave it 91 points? I thought he through big numbers around with abandon…

I’m pretty sure I’m not going to like this one.

I don’t remember writing that!

Oh, yeah. The other guy.

Yeah, the other guy. Isn’t a 91 from him sort of damning with faint praise?

Ohhhh, that Jay Miller! I thought you we’re talking about someone more important!

Roberto - Syrah, Cab and Petite Verdot, no?

Unsung wine, unsung region, unsung importer = 91 is a good score.

Sounds like every note he ever wrote.

Let me guess, drinking window from 2042 to 2100? And then you remove the capsule and see a synthetic cork?

100 points!

Next they will move it to the front.
