Christmas party tonight and tomorrow night at friends houses. So far I have an '02 Ch. Negly Clos de Truffiere and an '06 Mas de Boislauzon “Cuvee de Quet” CdP on deck to bring.
Tonight I am taking my kid to see the Nutcracker so no vino.
Tomorrow a lady friend and I will share a 97 Phelps Insignia in honor of the member who said it was over the hill. .
2000 Mordoree Lirac Reine de Bois…hope it’s still got legs. UPDATE - turned out really nice, tannins fading, but fruit still strong! Happy days at $10/btl!
2006 Saxum Booker right now. Who knows what’ll happen after that. The weather heads on tv say that Maryland is in for about two feet of snow in the next 36 hours. I predict some serious cellar thinning will follow, but I have not come up with a strategy for it yet.
2003 Rieussec as I type this (preceded by some KJ Grand Reserve Chard - meh). I’m helping my 71 year old Mother move tomorrow, so consumption of wine is not very likely. I have high hopes for Sunday however.
Charlottesville is dead-on center of the snow a’headin your way. On the plus side it’s perfect for snowball making, but there is a shitload of it. Time to dig deep, in your driveway and your wine reserves. Thinning out some older Belgians here.
