It's Cinco de Mayo. What are you making?

Well of course, those are all crap, too. Maybe I should say crappiest imported beer. Again, who really cares about the difference between a 52 point wine and a 51 point wine? Both get tossed.

Mark:
the link to Wikipedia clearly states that Cinco de Mayo is not a real holiday. Read it more closely. it is a small regional holiday celebrated by one small place. it was turned into a big deal by Corona beer and others. Most Mexicans have never heard of it, in fact, until they come to the US. it would be similar to Sam Adams beer taking Patriots day and marketing that in Europe as a big American holiday, when it is in fact, not. Only a regional holiday.

Dr. H is spot on! [highfive.gif]

They sell them here in packs of 12. About 20 different brands. I prefer the flour ones and WISH I could get them in packs of 30.

I love that idea. A duck is perfect. [highfive.gif]

Meat break???

Tequila and wine??

On the patio with my friend Norm as his wife had the kids…

carribbean inspired dry rubbed chicken on the grill. Sliced thinly and put into large flour tortillas with fresh avocado, sour cream, a 5 cheese blend, a squeeze of lime juice and heirloom tomatoes.

Chips and Arriba! salsa.

To drink we made margaritas on the rocks. Using the Krueger recipe of 1 part fresh lime juice, 1 part Cointreau and 2 parts Patron Anejo tequila. No salt for me.

Perfect.

I’d recommend 2 parts Tequila, 1 part Cointreau and between 1-2 parts lime juice, depending on your taste, a hair over 1 part. I sweeten the lime juice with agave sweetener to taste. That step is crucial. For the tequila I prefer silver or reposado, anejo has too much oak / wrong profile. My favorite moderately priced widely available tequila for margaritas is Heradura Reposado, usually can be had for ~$32.
