Restarted, no browser (Firefox) updates available but man it is slow. Whole lines of typed text appear at once, seconds after I have stopped typing.
Snappy as usual on Chrome though.
EDIT: Never mind. I restarted FF a second time and it seemed to fix whatever was hanging things up.
Neal — not just you, and not a WB problem. Firefox and Discourse have had issues for years. Chrome and Safari are just better with it. Second restart fixed it this time, but if it comes back, that’s your answer.
Last time I spoke to my server host about it, he went off on how much he/they hate Firefox - it is also the browser that takes the longest to adjust to any discourse software changes
Yeah, the problem at least with Chrome is that it is a bloated beast. Looking at Activity Monitor, Firefox, with ~10 tabs running, and Chrome with one run neck and neck for CPU %.
Has anyone used Brave? Maybe I should ask that in Asylum.

I use Brave on my iPhone reading WB and it’s….ok. The only ongoing annoyance is that it occasionally lands you at the bottom of the page when you click into a thread rather than your next unread post.

I’m a Firefox user (on both Android and Windows, with a handful of extensions always running on Windows), and I haven’t seen anything unusual, myself.
FF is “fine” for me. “” are because it is a memory hog - it will happily take several gigabytes. No recent changes in behaviour for WB or anything else
Somewhat related…do any other FF users (or other browser users) notice the board jumping back up to the “Last Visit” line when scrolling through a bunch of new posts?
If there are more than 5 or so unread posts in the thread since your last visit, it is nearly impossible to read it. It just keep jumping back up as soon as you start scrolling through the thread. FF here also on Windows desktop (in case that’s relevant)

Nothing unusual here (mac OS). I typically have many windows/ tabs open in FF, and when it gets up to 50 or 60GB of ram slows noticeably… just quit FF and start over.
Firefox often is the laggard when it comes to Discourse - either Firefox or Discourse updates are normally resolved instantly with any other browser…but Firefox. It will eventually fix up but those who love Firefox have to deal with issues from time to time with the software that runs WB, unfortunately
Admittedly one of those fans / nuts who drank the Kool-Aid years ago and has just stubbornly refused to switch since.
The first web browser I used was NCSA Mosaic (on an 040 NeXTstation “pizza box”). Next was Netscape Navigator, then came Mozilla Firefox. I guess that’s something like a lineage…
I’ve used them all. Or at least a bunch of them. They all have their foibles.
What do cool kids use these days? I’m using FF but I’m more than happy to switch if there is something that is significantly better out there.
