I went in for a case and a half. Had a bottle of the 08 Sonoma County Syrah with dinner last night to celebrate. Such great QPR.
I fell victim too -
Picked up 4 whites, 4 old vines, 2 stellwagon, and 2 Bedrock Zins. I have a ton of syrah, but was very low on Zins. Fixed that issue.
I have been overwhelmed since I started the winery in 2007!
It is a concern, and frankly I was not expecting to have such good fortune with vineyard additions this year, and I have added more fruit than was in the business plan. However, vineyards like Monte Rosso, Papera, and Von Weidlich (this years additions) open up to new wineries very infrequently, so you just do not say no when the opportunity presents itself. It may be hard on the pocketbook in the near term, but I see these additions as major assets towards the future of the winery (not to mention me having a lot of fun!).
I read the thread yesterday but didn’t pull the trigger
came back today to see the updates and purchased a 6 pack
and have found a bottle of Lulu Rose locally so I am excited now
You put the words Zinfandel and Papera on a bottle and Ill buy however many you offer me
With the great memories of the 2008 Heirloom & a huge fan of Zins & Syrahs I swiftly jumped on Morgan’s offers.
I’ll probably beat myself over the head for not ordering the entire allocation.

Sounds like a very wise long term business decision to me. Hopefully you will be in a position to hire some help in the next year or so. I’ve got a feeling things will work themselves out if you make great wine from great vineyards and sell it for a fair price.
DAMN YOU ALL!!! I have cut my once 8 mailers to 2.5 over the last year, the half being an occasional dabble with Turley. I think it will be worth it.
