Iron Chef and Flannery

OK, I’m getting a little bored watching Iron Chef-tonight’s two hour white house garden thing was a train wreck. I think Tex needs to get invited and bring some Flannery to cook. I can just see a five course menu of some day boat scallops, 45 day New Yorks, some hangers, a four inch thick porterhouse, and a ribcap for dessert. They could put any iron chef up against that and they would get killed. That would be great TV. I can just see Freemott as the sous chef, wandering around trying to make something in a sous vide machine…

You almost got it right…

Ribcap Ice Cream. (That will only make sense to Iron Chef regulars…)

I was looking forward to watching that episode, but my stupid cable company dropped the Food Network over a pricing dispute. [soap.gif]

I can barely boil water in an hour’s time.

That’s what microwave ovens are for, aren’t they? [whistle.gif]

I use mine to dry off wet poodles.

Whatever works!!! [wink.gif]

I thought they were for warming cold wine

Speaking of Flannery… cooked a whole standing rib roast on the BGE last night… man was it amazing…

Nice. Our Flannery BA Porterhouse and Rib-Eye with Oregon White Truffle Butter on Saturday wasn’t too shabby either.

Had the same for Christmas dinner, (cooked in a viking gas range.) Best piece of meat I’ve ever eaten…

BA Porterhouse?

Big Ass? just hate using the words Manlin Cut huh?

Big Ass is correct as would be Manlin Cut as they were only 2 1/2 inches thick. To make it the Landreth Cut, the Porterhouse would need to be 3 1/2 inches and over four pounds. neener

2.5 inches is a snack… just sent you a picture of a proper “Manlin” cut via email… there is no substitute… :stuck_out_tongue:

Nice. I agree that is the proper size for a steak. Will be ordering soon to replenish the stash as I am down to a single rib cap in the deep freeze.

that is unconscionable… that is like letting your gas tank run out of gas… a totally manageable thing…

I should clarify…I am reordering “Entertainment” product. I have plenty of Flannery Hangers as well as Heartbrand Flank Steak, Wagyu and Costco USDA Prime Rib-Eyes.

I can just see Freemott as the sous chef, wandering around trying to make something in a sous vide machine…

I would be afraid that it might wind up like this:

Oh, and before anybody gets all worked up…The Freak and I are fairly good friends.
