Tasting Room in Los Gatos/Call Windy Oaks/Call Big Basin/Beach Boardwalk/Call Manresa
Let us know what you did. Cheers!
Looks Like Manresa is closed for now due to a Fire last month.
I would try Sofi or La Posta.
In town Santa Cruz Mountain Vineyard, Odonata and Storrs. I don’t think they are open on Thursday but Equinox makes outstanding sparklers and their dry wines under the Bartolo lable are very good qpr’s. Info here Wineries Archive - Wines of the Santa Cruz Mountains
There is a store called Vinocruz just off the Pacific Garden Mall that is great (next to the museum). Only Santa Cruz wines. Great selection and they do a 5 pour tasting.
I liked Burrell School tasting room up in the mountains.
There is a collective of wine and food somewhere on the West Side, I hear they may have a tasting room but I’ve not been there.
That would be the Surf City Vintners. Info here http://surfcityvintners.com/
Sante Adairius if you like beer.
Soif - good food and wine, connected to wine shop - Downtown
West End Tap has good beer selection and good local wine selection and solid food - Westside near all the tasting rooms on Swift street
Casanova - Best Italian food I’ve had recently and nice wine bar next door - Capitola Village
Avanti - On 1 North/Mission - Excellent food and they have a really nice wine list - have found some older Barolo/Brunello gems for reasonable prices.
Casanova in Capitola? I know there is a Casanova in Carmel Village
Au Midi in Aptos/Rio Del Mar is very good French. Wife cooks, husband runs the floor. BYOB friendly. Short list, but some Windy Oaks offerings, as well
Went to a tasting at MJA and they suggested I should go to Lillian’s Italian. Thoughts?
Good call. GO
You are getting good advice above. Lillian’s is great or if to crowded go down the street (Seabright) to La Posta. Au Midi is also high on the list. You really should try and go over to Soif downtown for the tastings and just to see the downtown “ambiance”.
If you can swing by the Westside tasting scene (see surf city link above) make sure to hit Santa Cruz Mountain Vineyards and Odonatta, or Storrs which is on your way out of town unless you are going up the coast.
Have fun!
Forgot to mention Vino Cruz is also well worth the visit depending on what they are pouring.
Went to Lillian’s. Fantastic little spot.
Oops…Caruso’s, next to Cava wine bar.
Thanks for all the suggestions !
