I just love it in the Butteaux!!! (15 LM Chablis)

What? Great hilltop PC with good ventilation and south east exposures? check. Lovely Kimmeridgian sub soil? check. Great pun for a tasting note title?..

Initial served a wee bit on the cool side which had me with little interest but once it warmed, much more interesting My first junction in scribing a Chablis note is to see if it falls under the ‘classic’ mode (oh 14 Chablis I love you so) or something else. To no surprise like most 15’s, something else, and nothing wrong with that. Yellow plums seem to be the main feature, with some slightly exotic touches of cardamom and spearmint. Nothing crazy on the acidity fruit but certainly not lacking either. Lacks the thrust and coverage of the top end Butteaux’s, but it claims its place as a comfy, cozy Chablis to snuggle up with. Comfy price too, $22.50 at Costco. Drink up. (90 pts.)

someday ill figure out why some costcos get things like LM and mine just has a whole endcap of Elouan

I take it the VV of this cuvée commands a sizable premium?

Not that there is anything wrong with that…

How is the nose? Oh, wait, Alfie may guess.

Yep, double from what I can see. The loaded labels on CT aren’t any help either.

Depending on state some Costco liquor stores aren’t actually Costco (NJ for example)

Great post Dale! You are entering Jeremy/Marshall territory…tread very carefully…

Cheers,

No one but me gets near my Butteaux.

Do they sell these in mags? (I like big Butteaux, and I cannot lie.)

Much to learn do I (in Yoda’s voice).

I was also going to point out that this is a rather cheeky thread title.

Any signs of brett?

It’s just on your mind 24/7, dirty boy!

Considering that mine has Butter and Substance in the “fancy premium” area…I feel your pain.

ha, right next to the Elouan.

I do appreciate there’s a pretty good stock of the Kirkland Barolo right now though which isnt terrible for a $19 Barolo. but thats the big bucks at our Costco
