I HATE EVERYTHING. BUT . . .

It was a great ride while it lasted. Although he’s still in Marin technically, it ain’t the same as just dropping by the store. And it was day boat scallops that first got me jazzed to shop there, not the beef. Ultimately I think my biggest soft spot though was for the California lamb.

I used to get my turkey stock there for Thanskgiving. And yeah, the scallops were good!

I miss the store in Corte Madera. Was on my commute home, used to stop by all the time.

Alfred’s Steakhouse in San Francisco reopened today, serving Flannery aged “Choice” Beef.

My hands-down favorite steak is tri-tip (bottom sirloin) and what do you know they sometimes have (unlisted) California Reserve tri-tips. Order in, along with a Jorge steak (thanks Mike and Charlie) and a 2lb lamb saddle. Better go stand up some nice bottles to go with these.
