I built a weather analytics platform for wine growers — 6 disease models, 14 viticultural indices, 7 data sources

Like a lot of you I’ve got a weather station in the vineyard and have been pulling data off it daily — during growing season for GDD and disease pressure, year-round for frost dates and rainfall totals. Then calculating Huglin, BEDD, Winkler, Gubler-Thomas mildew risk, chill accumulation, all in spreadsheets that got uglier every year.

I finally built a web app that does all of it automatically. You connect your station (supports Tempest, Ambient, Davis, and Weather Underground), it syncs your data, and gives you a dashboard with 14+ viticultural indices computed daily. Varietal suitability scoring, season comparisons, the whole thing.

Called it VineyardVitals — vineyardvitals.com

There’s a free tier with basic season totals for one site. Full daily analytics, disease risk, chill hours, historical comparison start at $20/mo — no annual contract.

I’m still building it out, so if you’re someone who uses this kind of data and you’re willing to help me with my beta testing, sign up for a free account and I will upgrade the account to the Pro tier for free for 1 year. Just message me after signing up and I’ll upgrade the account. I’d really value the input of some experts on what’s missing or what would make it worth opening every morning.

Thanks,
Nick
