I can’t argue with you there, and I agree producer is essential for Burgundy (as it is for any region for that matter) - point was that this particular region is governed “officially” based on place, not producer. Going by producer means ranking based on opinion, which may still very well be the best way to judge the wines. Heck, that’s why we all enjoy talking here on the forum.

Have to say that based on my own experience with these producers I greatly disagree with this chart. E.g to take just one example, although it does tend to have powerful fruit, Geantet-Pansiot can be fiercely acidic and almost rustic at times.
