How to staff retail store when wine shop owner isn't present

Question for wine shop owners or employees. My understanding is the unique benefit of buying wine from a local wine shop is the expertise the shop owner can provide in guiding you to buy the right bottle for you on budget. Makes total sense to me.

What are your strategies/experiences in today’s market when it comes to staffing your stores especially when you arent there. Do your staff know wine in and out and you trust them to guide your customers? Do you work full time? do you use any signage, social media etc to help guide your customer if you aren’t there?

How important is it to you that your staff are wine retail experts? or are you just happy to get someone to work? What is your comfort level when you arent there?
