To those of you who got married, paid for son’s or daughter’s wedding, or planned a wedding … am curious (if you had live music) how you found and chose the band?

My SIL, BIL, and we used the same band. I had nothing to do with the planning, etc. of the ceremony.
Note, make sure the bank knows their wedding song. We had dance lessons, the last thing our instructors said was send the CD to the band. My wife didn’t, band played a way faster tempo.

catering halls ( at least 20 years ago) held expos where the bands/dj’s on their recommended list would perform while you sampled the food of the catering halls. We got to eat and drink and listen to various band. We did this at 3 or 4 different catering calls.
Found out which bands we liked/did not like same with the caterer’s food.
Helped us make a bunch of decisions ( venue/band/florist/etc)
