How do you decide who your favorite tasters are on CT?

I add guys like Yoni and Todd and then delete them when I don’t get any love back…


Seriously though - I must look at my CT home page more times then I look at any other web page and read every note that goes by on wines that I have in stock… When someone writes a nice note on one of my wines (regardless of whether or not they liked it) then I usually add them…

I don’t add anyone who just puts scores with no notes. that information does me no good at all.

For me, if I find that someone has written a thoughtful note I often click on their handle and take a broader look at their notes. If I like what I see then I tend to add them to my favorites.

It’s funny, I’ve never used the TN functionality to post anything in CT - I’m a barebones minimalist when it comes to my CT utilization. That said, when I logged on recently to adjust some inventory, I found out someone had listed me as one of their favorite reviewers, which I thought was kind of impressive given the fact that I’ve never posted a TN.

Must be based on raw, latent potential .

My favorite tasters are the ones that tell me what I want to hear about the wine I’m interested in opening or buying. Then I feel validated.

I usually see a note that draws me in on a wine that I have, and then i will look at their notes. Like others, if I think their notes are worth reading, I will add them as a favorite author.

I’ll also add someone if it’s a name I recognize from the boards who’s notes I have appreciated on here or on one of the other boards. -mJ

I think this is a nice feature on CT, but it’s one that I actually do not use for fear that it might lead to more wine purchases.

Ouch. Not at all. Honestly. I am so busy coding the site these days I don’t get to spend as much time playing and using and ready and drinking as I wish.
