How about Baltimore on Jan 4th, NYC on the 5th and Shepherdstown, WV on the 7th

Juan and I will be in Baltimore on the 4th of Jan. for a wine presentation earlier in the day. We would love to maximize the trip and get together and share our wines with some fellow wine lovers that night. We will be heading back to Dayton through Washington DC the following day. Rob Wilder co-owner of Jaleo is up for the idea to have an offline there on the 5th. Then in Shepherdstown WV we are probably going to meet with Laird Marshall of http://www.whatslairddrinkingnow.com/ and have a wine dinner there as well.

Anyone has suggestions in Baltimore for the get together? Juan and I will be bringing the Veleta lineup but we love to try other wines too.

I am most likely interested in Monday in Baltimore. Where is your presentation during the day? What did you have in mind for the evening?

i might be up for a tasting/dinner on the 4th. i’m always up for a visit with another daytonian (either former or current).

which company are you presenting to? feel free to PM me if i can be of any assistance with either setup, information or planning the dinner. i do admit that i’m not an expert on baltimore restaurants but i do have some excellent resources i can use for quick research…

What I have in mind is to get together - meet friends I may or may not know online, introduce to you my husband (winemaker), share some of our wines and some of those who attend, over dinner in a easy going non-pretentious eatery, possibly tapa style so you could try a variety of wines with a variety of flavors and just have a good time.

I’m not sure of many BYOBs in Baltimore. there are a few outside of the city depending on where you are staying. However, some places may be cool if we set it up in advance.

If a place in Baltimore is determined, I’d be interested.

Greetings everyone,

I’m trying to solidify a last-minute offline at the Ambassador Dining Room in Baltimore.

Four alternatives aren’t open Mondays.
The Ambassador Dining Room is located in a hotel-like apartment building set back from the street on a long U-drive and across the street and around the corner from Johns Hopkins Homewood Campus. They have valet parking or you can try your luck finding a parking spot yourself.
The resto has had a corkage fee (@ $15 IIRC) in the past and the cuisine and ambience is excellent.
Once the number of attendees firms up I’ll phone the resto again to confirm details, including reservation time (perhaps 6:15 to 6:45 pm ?, before their crowd arrives…).

Feel free to PM me.
Hope to see you there !

Tentative attendees:
Nola Palomar + 2
Mitch Smith
Steve Sliger + 1

Huge Thank you to Mitch and Steve for meeting up with us last night. Steve thanks for bringing along your friend Mark. We enjoyed meeting everyone and showing you our wines. Thank you for making it happen!!! flirtysmile

Nola,

It was a genuine pleasure to meet you and your lovely family last night. Given my ignorance about Spanish wine, it was a real eye-opener for me to have an opportunity to taste through your remarkable selection of delicious, QPR wines. I wish you and Juan the best in introducing your impressive wine selection to a greater audience here, stateside.

Home again! After 1477 miles driven, with not the greatest weather at times it is good to be home in Dayton. We had a GREAT time meeting up with our friends in Baltimore, NYC and Shepherdstown, WV. This is truly the best part of what we are doing…meeting so many fantastic people!!!

Nola,

You and Juan are unbelievably generous and lovely couple. Thanks so much for sharing the fruit of your labor (no pun intended). I owe some notes on the wine…been a hectic week. Will put them up over the weekend.

Big hugs to you both and thank you once again.

P.S. Doesn’t anybody freaking smile anymore for pictures? [tease.gif]

Just you and Eisenhauer

I was too, but those other guys were caught off guard I guess!!!
