Why don’t we all get together around six. Just bring whatever you prefer to drink and it’ll be fun to share and try.
I will not be able to make it, but thanks for putting this together!
I’ve got a couple sick kids and have quite a bit of congestion myself. Would you guys mind if we reschedule?
Aw hope you and the little ones get to feeling better! Rain check.
Focusing on Weds/Thurs nights I could do 10/1, 10/9, 10/15, 10/16, 10/29, 10/30, or 11/5, 11/6.
@Myles_Lup @RyanC @MICHAEL_C_R_O_M_W_E_L_L @Corey.H any of those dates work well for a reschedule?
Edit: most of the rest of September is a mess for me but could do 9/10 if a snap one week reset works for others.
I can’t do 10/9 but as of now I think I can do the rest of them.
No need to schedule around me - thanks.
I don’t have a super deep cellar, but I’d be very happy to bring a bottle and meet some Houston-area wine people. With the exceptions of Sundays and a floating (and unpredictable) day off, I generally work late, but if something gets scheduled on an evening when I’m available I would love to be looped in.
My employer lets me bring me home with $300 of wine each month, including one bottle up to $120, so if anyone is interested in previewing recently released Bordeaux, I may be able to use my monthly wine allotment to make that happen.
Hey, this got a little cold on us. Let’s try and set a date for early November. Can everyone chime in about what would work best for them?
Open to any date in early November - thanks for reviving this!
Just saw that this thread revived, would be great to get together. 11/4, 11/5, 11/6 would work for me. Any of those good for others?
Tagging folks for visibility: @Myles_Lup @Corey.H @RyanC @MICHAEL_C_R_O_M_W_E_L_L
I will be free any time on 11/4.
I’m already committed to a tasting on the 6th, maybe the following week 10-14th?
The following week I’m free any time on Wednesday. 11/10 and 11/11 aren’t quite as good for me, but I could probably pop in as a late arrival.
Since this has fizzled out a couple of times, maybe we could build some momentum by posting a couple of things we’d be interested in sharing and a couple of areas we’d be interested in exploring.
To start, I’ve been itching to open my first 2017 base Egly-Ouriet Les Crayeres and my 2017 Domaine Maillaird Corton-Renardes.
Two areas I’d be especially excited to explore are aged Northern Rhone Syrah and 10-20 year-old red burgundy priced at less than $100 at release, though honestly cheaper is better here because I’m looking to inform purchasing decisions.
Tbh I think we’d just have better luck trying early in the new year. Everyone’s schedules are going to be a mess through end of year. Though I can sometimes sneak away last minute, so if y’all organize something I’d love to come!
I think the new year sounds like a great idea. We are going to be having a child late January/early February so maybe middle January would be my last available hurrah for a while. As far as dates, I’m just throwing darts, how does January 8 sound to everyone?
January 20 is already penciled in for some. Shoot me a PM if you aren’t already in that discussion.
Open Jan 8 and happy to do something in addition to getting together on 1/20 when Dave comes through town.
My mid-January trial settled so have some unexpected flexibility that month.
Im definitely interested in meeting up with some folks offline in the future, would love to be kept in the loop on any Houston meetups
Anyone have thoughts either way on a 1/8 get together like Miles proposed?
