Holidays in Santa Barbara Area Lompoc: Recommendations please

My wife booked a small house in Lompoc area and the entire family is going: 10 people.

What are some good places for a picnic for 10? We did Lincourt last time and it worked out well. Brought some picnic food and a few bottles from the winery and had a great time.

Was wondering if there are other similar wineries with a good picnic area.

Also, since we’ll have a kitchen, besides the local big chain supermarkets, any good places to buy meat and veggies?

Thanks!

Your best bet is to avoid shopping in Lompoc and make the trip to El Rancho Market (Santa Ynez) or Los Olivos Grocery (Los Olivos). Especially if you’re looking for cheese. The local (Lompoc) Vons and Albertson’s aren’t bad, but they don’t have much of a selection, especially on the higher end.

Try to get some of Sashi Moorman’s homemade bread!

We usually like to picnic at Rideau vineyards…

another family vacation!? man. New cars all the time and vacations. To live the life of Chairman Hu.

haha. I wish…trip to Lompoc is just slightly cheaper than your trips to Bali, Singapore, Dubai, and 5 star African Safari…

Thanks, I will check this out!

Melville also has a picnic area (with tables) in the back of their tasting room overlooking the vineyard

Rusack has a very nice picnic area above Solvang; also agree with the other recommendations, especially Brian’s El Rancho tip.

Haven’t been there yet, as it just recently opened, but Industrial Eats in Buellton looks like it has deli stuff and sandwiches too, and is closer than El Ranchito, which is excellent. Maybe Tomasso or Loring or another of the local boys or girls has tried IA and can comment.

I like D’Vine Wine Bar and Bistro in Lompoc

How about La Purisima Mission for a picnic? Awesome location.

Thanks  just booked Melville for Sunday! Will check out the markets too! Cheese is always good!

Best picnic site that even the locals don’t know about. Santa Rosa Park on Santa Rosa road. Between LaFond and Sanford.

All the usual suspects for eating, but there’s a new spot on Industrial Ave Buellton called Industrial Eats. Also worth a stop. Go to the Hitching Post for a burger in the bar area M-W eves. Or order a f*cking steak. Great Prime beef grilled over red oak.
