Hey wineries... STOP using this shipping software!

Whatever web shipping software this is… STOP USING IT. It has some extremely strict, auto address processing that you cannot bypass. It always drops suite numbers, apartment numbers, etc. So if you send packages to a UPS store that requires a suite number, it arrives without one, making it a huge pain to pickup. So far Greer, Vineyardist, and now MOWE are guilty of using this junk.

Yes, you can see the suite number in the form in the screen capture now, but when you click save, it gets dropped. There is no way to bypass this. I have to contact each winery separately now after every order in the hopes they can manually fix this at shipping time (not crossing my fingers). I know it’s not an illusion because my Greer order did actually arrive without the suite number.

Why don’t you just put the suite number with the address on the first line?

Now that’s using your head!

Maybe “extremely strict, auto address processing that you cannot bypass”

Doesn’t work. That gets stripped also.

Then put it in the name field.

If the “suite” is the box number, that’s not a valid way to address it per USPS. It has to be “PMB” or “#”. Not sure if that’s what it’s objecting to, but if they’re trying to strictly follow the regulations, it might be. (If the UPS store address actually has a suite number, and then there’s a box number beyond that, then I don’t know.)

They refuse to deliver to suite 666…too risky for the quoted price.

I tried more varations like those but all were stripped as well. I convinced one of the wineries to file a ticket with this vendor. God knows how this release made it past QE – I doubt I’m the only person in the country shipping wine to a UPS store, apartment, or business suite.

Actually not a bad idea. I’m now officially “Nick Ryan-Suite666” with Greer. Surprised the verification check allows numbers in the name field, we’re not quite living in a William Gibson novel yet.

Hi Nick,

Sorry I just happen to stumble across this thread so apologies for not replying sooner.

We have a lot of customers who ship to locations with suite numbers or apartment numbers and I haven’t heard of any issues.

They (offset) are the #1 wine DTC software provider by a huge margin for small/medium wineries. When we were searching for a provider it is who we repeatedly kept being referred to as the best (when asking around 9/10 we asked used it).

Sorry for the hassle. I’ll come back to you with feedback once talking to offset about this issue.

Hope you enjoy the wines.

Dustin
