Hendry Ranch New WA Reviews

I was really happy to see some good scores (92-96) and (IMO) overdue acknowledgment for the classically styled and reasonably priced Hendry wines. For the many years I was a retailer, I sold the Barrel-Fermented Chardonnay, Block 7 Zin and later on, the Mike & Molly Zin from the RW Moore Vineyard. The zins in particular age really really well - I’ve had several with 10-15 years on them and they evolve in the claret direction which I think really justifies keeping. The cab is also a really nice stalwart Napa style.

I didn’t see any existing thread so I thought I’d start one. Anyone else like Hendry?

My brother is a regular buyer so I have had my fair share. I like the wines especially the Albariño and buy them myself, if less often. I always have a few in the cellar. Agree the pricing is reasonable and I don’t recall anything that I felt was a disappointment. Along those wines, I also don’t recall any that really thrilled either.

SSHHHHH! They’re like one of the last well kept secrets in Napa!

One of the absolute best producers in all of Napa. Also the absolute best people. The have such a great story and their grapes are in a lot of esteemed Napa Cabs and blends.

As it happens, Angela Douglass from Hendry is on the east coast this weekend hosting some events in Annapolis/Baltimore.

The day Maryland allowed direct to consumer wine shipping, I joined Hendry and have been a member ever since. Love their Albarino. Their Zins are fantastic, the block 28 is considered a “big borther” to their widely acclaimed block 7&22 zin. I absolutley love their cabernet, especially for the price and George started his first “reserved” program in 2018 and they’re undeniable. If you have not had the opportunity - give Hendry’s wines a try.

Agree! We also had a great visit & tour there about 8-9 yrs ago.

Curious to hear how the Primitivo and Merlot are, if anyone has had them?
