Help Needed: Wine Shops in Austin, TX

A friend of mine is getting married in Austin later this Fall. He’s asked that I help him pick out the wine and I wanted to see if anyone could connect me with anyone in the wine trade in Austin. Looking to purchase between 8 and 10 cases of $10-$12/bottle.

I’d recommend Austin Wine Merchant. All of the people there I knew well have moved on, but they’re very responsive to email: info@austinwinemerchant.com. The inventory skews toward burgs and German riesling, but they have a good selection of other wines in your friend’s price range.

Austin Wine Merchant is a great store but might not have the inventory in the price range ($10-$12).

There is a Spec’s on Brodie (a large store) and a brand new very large Total Wine on Brodie. Both would have many choices in that price range.
