Hearst Castle WINE CELLAR....Pics!

I have heard that the Domaine doesn’t label all their bottles at the time of bottling, but rather stores them as shiners. Could it be a case of them being sold decades later and the domaine slapping a newer label on them?

I liked the bottles of Paul Mason and Italian Swiss Colony in the fiascos.

Sadly, the Paul Masson and Cresta Blanca are the most interesting to me.

Obviously, at this point anything that’s still there is toast, but it is fun to see to what was collected/consumed way back when.

I’ve taken the cellar tour as well and I recall the same thought about the temp when we walked in it. Maybe it was colder back then, it was the “old days.” [bye.gif]

It’s interesting that there is label variation between the '34 RC. The monopole label on the first label has no dots and a distinctly different ‘4.’ On the main label the ‘1934’ is a different font than the other two bottles.
