Might be a little closer to 45 mins but definitely worth the drive. One of the best restaurants on Cape and BYO, which VERY few nice places are. Blackfish in Truro, call ahead though because you will definitely need reservations. Will
Wellfleet, about 30 minutes north up Rte 6 - Moby Dick’s on Rte 6, BYO long lines basic seafood nautical theme on the main road. Mac’s Seafood in Wellfleet Harbor next to the WHAT theatre BYO - NOT the one in town which has beer & wine licence - view of Cape Cod Bay, fishing fleet, fresh but very in-the-rough seafood, nothing fancy. PJ’s another fried clams and and simply grilled fish place on Rte 6 also BYO. All places BYO glasses for sure!
Mac’s for view
Moby Dick’s for seafood selection & fanciest, which isn’t saying much
PJ’s is closest to Harwichport
Both Mac’s and PJ’s have ice cream stands for kids if you got them.
Lunch at Sesuit Harbor Cafe is fun and good. Order inside, sit outside on picnic tables (that have umbrellas in case of sun. or rain). BYO. Raw bar and lobster rolls are good. Fun place and maybe 10 miles across the Cape from Harwich Port.
We couldn’t get a Friday night reservation. They said if we come, we could always eat at the bar. Didn’t sound like a plan, since we were 35 - 45 minutes away with traffic.
Instead, we went for Saturday lunch. We walked right in at 12:00. When we left, it was an hour wait.
My wife had the shrimp salad. I had oysters and the BBQ Maple Glaze halibut. This was OMFG delicious. Everything we saw looked good, even the sandwiches people were eating. Will F, thanks for the tip.
