I signed up for the Harlan waiting list in 2003. I think the release price was $250 per bottle at the time, maybe less. They offered me wine two or three years later, at which point the price had galloped to something like $350 or perhaps $450. I decided to pass. I never looked back. I went to the Mets/Phillies playoff game with my wife last week for $320 per ticket. I would take that over two bottles of Harlan any day, and that ignores about 17 years of storage cost plus the time value of money. AND, of course, it was a lot easier to buy two tickets to the game from Stubhub that to flip a couple of bottles of Harlan. BUT to each his own.

With shipping and tax, comes at just over $1500/bottle. Minimum 3 bottles. Yeah thanks but no thanks. I’m not sure it’s worth 10th of that.
They’ve priced it perfectly to clear out their wait list without preventing the vintage selling out. Genius business move.
they will pour it at PNV in Feb is my guess, I will report back

I was offered an allocation after 1 year on the waitlist. Passed, seeing how older vintages are readily available in the secondary market for much less (~2/3 the price).
Is that generosity documented anywhere? I’m on the Founders List at Promontory (just picked up the 2020 release) but haven’t asked/tried to visit with guests in the past year
