Hello and Welcome to the Berserker Day 17 Goodfellow Offer!
Thank you for visiting the Goodfellow BD 17 offer thread. Simply put, this community is one of the biggest reasons we continue to thrive as a wine producer. With your help, we are able to illustrate beautiful and age-worthy wines from the Willamette Valley and to create one of the most exciting sparkling wine projects in the New World. We are truly grateful for the continued support of Berserkers everywhere.
This year’s offers showcase some of the very best wines we have produced so far: a new set of sparkling wines, the 2023 vintage wines, and the new Berserker Cuvée Chardonnay and Berserker Cuvée Pinot Noir!
Berserker Day 17 shipping is $40 flat rate/box (up to 12 bottles) ground shipping to the continental USA, weather permitting. (Please note that the sparkling futures ship next fall as noted in the offer!) We ship to most states where it is legal to do so, but please reach out if you have any questions about your state.

Without further ado:
This year we are truly excited to offer wines entirely from our second round of tirage. These new wines, simply put, demonstrate our evolving understanding of how to handle the wines and also a near perfect combination of vintages in 2022 and 2021.
Offer No. 1: “The Keita Miyaki” - Sparkling Futures (Shipping Fall of 2026)
- 3btl Whistling Ridge Blanc de Blancs “Usagi Yojimbo” – NV 66% Base 2022 wine blended with 34% 2021 reserve wine (3 years on lees, 80 cases disgorged)
- 3btl Whistling Ridge Blanc de Noirs “Ogre Citadel” 2022 Base (3 years on lees, 75 cases produced)
The NV Whistling Ridge Blanc de Blancs “Usagi Yojimbo” is my favorite of the Whistling Ridge Blanc de Blancs so far. I’ve made no secret of my love for the wines of Pascal Agrapart and this bottling faces squarely in that direction. Raised in two 600L demi-muids and one 400L puncheon, this is definitely a wine I am proud of and would happily put into a blind tasting with good grower Champagnes. This is definitely more mineral driven and less reductive than the previous cuvée.
The 2022 Whistling Ridge Blanc de Noirs “Ogre Citadel” is 100% Pinot Noir from the Last Acre and the House Block. The vintage gave miniscule yields but phenomenal quality in the fruit we did harvest. Raised in one older 600L demi-muid and one older 228L barrique, this wine’s weightless power shows the potential in our sedimentary soils. Beautiful since it went into bottle, this has only gained in the three years in bottle; layered, energetic, and pure with a wonderful weight and juiciness to it.

Offer No. 2: “The Michael Hodgins” -New Release Goodfellow Sparkling Wines
- 3 bottles NV Durant Vineyard Blanc de Blancs Base 2022/21 (NEW RELEASE)
- 3 bottles 2022 Tsai Vineyard Blanc de Noir (NEW DISGORGEMENT)
The new cuvée of NV Durant Blanc de Blancs is 100% Chardonnay, 80% from 2022 and 20% 2021 reserve wines. I couldn’t be happier with this wine. There is a lovely purity to the citrus oil and orchard fruit in the nose, textural abundance, and wonderful balance and persistence.
The new disgorgement of the 2022 Tsai Blanc de Noirs is the final 80 cases of this lovely wine, with another full year on lees in bottle. Disgorged in late November of 2025, this is a richer, more complex, more layered version of one of the favorite sparkling wines we’ve released so far. Sadly, this will be the last offering of the Tsai Blanc de Noirs for three years.

Oregon’s more ethereal vintages typically offer up my favorite wines for comparing the terroir of the different vineyard blocks. In 2023 this is absolutely true, and while these wines will be better in 6-7 years, the detail of the vineyard blocks is absolutely clear and precise in these wines. Honestly, I can’t recommend 2023 highly enough, in the midst of a row of great vintages this is still a vintage not to be missed. These wines illustrate perfectly the old saying that Goodfellow Pinot Noir is like the “iron fist in the silken glove” though in another 9-10 years the glove may feel a bit more like velvet. For anyone new to the wines, we typically ferment with 100% whole cluster and are revealing a more savory, structured take on Oregon Pinot Noir. **Offer No. 5: “The Jim Petrila” – Best of the Vintage
- 2x 2023 Richard’s Cuvee, Whistling Ridge Vineyard Chardonnay
- 2x 2023 Heritage No. 22, Durant Vineyard Pinot Noir
- 2x 2023 Heritage No. 23, Whistling Ridge Vineyard Pinot Noir
These wines represent the pinnacle of what we have produced for still wines from this vintage. They are unique, compelling, and represent the essence of the place they are from. It is a vintage for cellaring, and in 7-8 years they should reward your patience with youthful yet beautiful wines. With 15-20 years in the cellar should reward you every bit as much as a beloved 1er Cru or Grand Cru Burgundy. For detailed notes on these wines follow the link here.

2024 Goodfellow Berserker Cuvée Chardonnay
(bottled end of March and ships as weather permits)
The Berserker Cuvée Chardonnay for 2024 is a composition of outstanding older 228L barriques from the Durant vineyard. It has the lighter bodied elegance of the vintage, paired with the richer aromatics of the Durant vineyard. This cuvee has tranquil orchard blossom and saline aromatics yet the palate is energetic and bright. Alcohols are quite low, and the wine is taut, vivacious, and refreshing. They will reward opening ahead of time and consuming closer to cellar temperature.
2024 Goodfellow Berserker Cuvée Pinot Noir
The conversations about the quality of 2024 in the Willamette Valley Pinot Noirs began very early and haven’t really stopped. It is a lovely and complete vintage. There is a weightless, suppleness to the Pinot Noirs, as well as a lovely fruit intensity and drive in the wines. The 2024 Berserker Cuvee is made up of one puncheon each from the Durant vineyard and the West Field of Temperance Hill that seemed to meld together so harmoniously it was impossible not to choose them as the 2024 Berserker Cuvée. Drinking window from 2027-2040 (and beyond) 12.9% abv.
