Good wine shop in Houston?

I’m there this weekend and if there is a place that has decent selection of aged old world wines at good prices I’d like to know. Thanks

I always go to Spec’s. The downtown shop is supposed to be killer.

I don’t know of one that carries significantly aged wines. That being said, the downtown specs on smith street has a massive selection of wine and liquor, including a big selection of Italian, Bordeaux and burgs

Spec’s “mothership” on Smith St near downtown does have a massive inventory, but I wouldn’t use “aged” or “good prices” to describe it …

Agree with above. Also, try Houston Wine Merchant on Shepherd.

Houston Wine Merchant is in my opinion the best. It’s not big but is a high quality, focused selection. Spec’s Downtown is like Disneyland and can be overwhelming but you can find most everything. Richard’s is good for some things but not others.
