Only because I realize that I already have enough wine for the rest of my life!!
This is the one in Hamden CT (there are several others in the USA, not related). Back in the old days, this is where I got my '71 Faiveley Musigny, my '69 Rousseau Chambertin, my '72 Romanee Conti! Their older wines are well-picked-over now (and I take some credit for this), but they always have some interesting stuff.
In NYC. I always liked their selection of Roty wines, though their database lists them under several differently spelled names, like “Roty”, “J Roty”, “J. Roty”, so you have to look through the list of ALL the Burgundy producer names to catch any alternate spellings before you do a search on someone…
Wow, just looked at these sites, first time in a long while, and it’s depressing how the prices on grand crus and other “name” wines have gone up!
Berry, I completely understand. Any excuse for a Burg thread is a good one. Have we done one on which hand do Burg winemakers use to scratch their butts yet?
Peter asked me if I could recommend any brug sources for him. I don’t order from the east coast so I couldn’t give a good answer and thus created this thread. I am sorry for not providing more context for you.
IN NY, I would say Crush, Grapes often has some killer email specials, Chambers Street and Burgundy Wine Co. Wine Connection in Pound Risge, NY and Suburban Wine and Liquors in Yorktown, NY are also worth keeping an eye on.
