Good labels for wooden wine racks?

I have some racking that I think is unfinished pine and I cannot get my standard Avery labels to stick to it. They start peeling off after some weeks/months. Does anyone have experience with good labels that would stick reliably to unfinished wood? (Ideally in sheets that I can load into a standard printer, though that’s not an absolute deal breaker. Thank you!

What’s your goal here? Are you just trying to attach a bin identifier (A1, B2, etc)? Or are you trying to do something fancier like QR codes?

If you just want an identifier, you might consider brass tags instead of adhesive.

Sticks to wood. Imprintable.

Oh good question. Neither, actually. I want to be able to print out labels that have 2-4 lines of information on them and then stick them onto the racking as needed. Sometimes I have 12 bottles of one wine, sometimes 1 or 2, and wines get moved around somewhat regularly.

Hmm looks like it has potential though the package says “handwrite only” - thank you very much, I will check these out.

Description says…

  • Durable white multi-surface ID labels for inkjet and laser printers.

I used a Brother label maker for my unfinished mahogany racks and a year in they’re still sticking great.

FWIW, this is the one I bought: Amazon.com

What you might do instead is get some small plastic or metal plaques (e.g. Amazon.com: Size: 3" W x 3/4" H, Personalized, Custom Engraved, Brushed Gold Solid Brass Plate Picture Frame Name Label Art Tag for Frames, with Adhesive Backing or Screws - Indoor use only : Office Products) screw them into the wood, and then stick the labels on those. Keep applying labels as things change and after it gets too thick toss out and start over.
