We’re trying to move quickly to thin lateral shoots from our different varieties and tuck back any wayward shoots into the trellis wires. Later today I was working an alley between our chardonnay and cabernet sauvignon blocks and came across this wasp resting under a grape leaf canopy in the chardonnay. At first I thought it might be a cicada killer wasp but instead in matches up with the Northern Paper Wasp. Turns out this wasp is a voracious hunter and killer of caterpillars … That’s good in my book.
