I’m curious to know if anyone has any details about this project. It looks like they recently silently released their 2018 vintage. I had been following this project when Mike Smith was billed as the winemaker, but on their website Thomas Brown is listed as the winemaker.
Was also surprised at the change as I was also following along since the beginning. I had the opportunity to meet with Aaron a few years back to taste and it, mainly because I was curious about what Mike could do with mountain fruit. As far as I know, the 2018 and 2019 are still made by Mike Smith. Perhaps they just changed to TRB recently?
I’m surprised to hear about the release. I signed up for the mailing list back when I first heard about it, at which point it was definitely associated with Mike Smith. Kind of curious not to get any updates from the winery.
Thanks both. I’m not much of a Napa Cab drinker (despite these being my wine origins many years ago), and while I’ve certainly heard of W&M, it’s generally not stylistically my thing
Yes the first two vintages of Glorious Revolution were made by Mike Smith being 2018 and 2019. The 2020 vintage was lost to the smoke and ash from the fires. TRB took over in 2021 and the wines are made at Mending Wall.
An honest question is it necessary to use these consultants? They don’t actually make the wine and they add a significant amount of cost. None of my favorite Cabs are made by consultants - Dunn, Forman, MacDonald, Beta/Jasud etc.
