Glazed bagels

I thought I’d revive this for those who didn’t see it when I posted it just before Christmas. These were at Wegmans in Sterling, VA. Millions of Jews are spinning in their graves at the very idea.

I’m repulsed.

Coming from a Jew…That looks utterly disgusting. What the hell is that?

Is this a Paula Deen invention???

No thank you. Just not the right texture.

Not this Jew either, yuck ! and it’s probably a Rachel Ray invention  (sorry Bob, couldn’t resist)

Neggatory from this here Jew…That would be a mess to eat, if nothing else!

As another MOT, I think they look nasty. OTOH, I don’t have a problem with the preponderance of “inauthentic” bagel flavors. My kids love the pumpkin bagels! I say this as not only a Jew, but as a bialy fanatic from Brooklyn: I think Noah’s asiago bagels are yum-o!

I’m gonna have to get a pic of the Snickerdoodle bagels down the street.

Not a Jew, but I can out-guilt even an old Jewish mother, (Catholic Midwestern upbringing) so I can say that I, as a near-Jew, also am repulsed.

Have these people never heard of donuts or muffins?

Bob - How could you??? I was very sorry for looking the first time around!

I live to torment you, Sherri.

I knew there was a reason we all followed you here

Shirley’s Bagels has something similar - but BETTER! A Bagel Danish! As the poet said, “God, I do love it so.”

Yea Bob you sick f#ck, why on earth did you have to bring this up again? You are strange.

As an honorary Jew I’m vomiting in terror.

Wegman’s likes to do weird things with its baked goods. Rarely does it work out.

Bumping one of Bob’s iconic threads…with a subject that stuck with him for 4 years. Glazed blueberry bagels.

Reading through this again, I had a hard time resisting the urge to reply, telling Bob how disgusting these bagels look. Maybe I should, somehow it wouldn’t surprise me if he’s still reading WB. I can almost feel his presence. RIP, my friend!

Bob really knew how to piss off the Jews. [cheers.gif]

Goyim.

Don’t want to hijack this tribute to Bob, but a the search for a good bagel is something I’m sure he’d be OK with.

In South OC I’ve found only one REAL bagel purveyor… Bagels & Brew. While an Asiago bagel is kindof a non-starter by definition, I have to say B&B does one and it’s terrific (sorry Grandma). I’ve seen Noah’s shops but there aren’t any around here. We DO have Einstein Bros. though. I know they started out separately but are now owned by the same company, which also owns Manhattan Bagel. Because I really don’t like Manhattan Bagels (way too soft for my taste) I’ve been reluctant to try Noah’s or Einstein’s.

Anyone want to compare and contrast?

I’ll start another topic if that’s preferable.
