Giodo

Hard not to love this. Fresh and structured.
One of our favorites to drink while the BdMs are sleeping away.

Is there a better sub $50 IGT, 100% Sangiovese out there? Have heard this is likely their Brunello declassified. Looking to go deeper on these types so interested in any other gems in this style/price range.

Curious why they labeled it Toscana if it’s 100% Sangiovese?

Unsure but sounds like the IGT is from the same vineyard from which the Brunello comes, just with less oak.

Don’t know anything about this particular wine but you can have many wines that are 100% Sangiovese but not classified as BDM. There are specifics to aging in wood and bottle for both RDM and BDM. If a wine doesn’t meet either than it’s labeled as a Rosso. This is true for other DOCG classifications.

Ted not sure of the style of Giodo but the Rosso di Montalcino from Le Regnaie from 18 and 19 are both fantastic. Such a pure and beautiful wine. You can find it for around $35.

Oh yah this is good stuff. Is this the 2019? I remember thinking this drank like a baby Brunello.

Exactly what it tasted like. I feel a little bad drinking them early cause they have years of life ahead.
