Getting 6 bottles from UK to US

How this happened is a long, unnecessary story, but I have 6 bottles (retail value more than $100 each) in the hands of a private individual south of London that need to travel to New York. I manage shipments from the EU to US but have no resources in England.

Any suggestions for how to get this done cost-efficiently?

You can ask for a quote from Connoisseur International in London. I used them for a larger shipment (arrived this morning actually) and all went very well. Not necessarily cheap though. That would be waiting until someone is making the trip and bringing along.

Good luck!

Post on FlyerTalk and get a NYLON commuter to take them for you as checked luggage.

If the wines are duty paid, you can send him a DHL/Fed Ex/UPS label and ship on your account. You would just need to prepare the FDA Prior Notice and best to include the COLA’s as well in the packet on the outside of the box. This is all assuming that you have a TTB import license.

I used Seabrook Export Services in the UK to get my whole collection over to the US. They’re not always cheap, but very good. They take care of all the paperwork. Talk to John Wyatt.

Good reason to buy a flats worth of wine in the UK. Lots of good prices on recent burgundy and well aged Bordeaux offered by london dealers.

I used Seabrook to get many cases from the UK to NYC on a number of occasions. The cost is often close to the VAT savings.
