Reporting back from a short trip to St Kitts I made 2 weekends ago. I took some wine with me, including these:
No formal notes and from memory
2022 Moritz Kissinger Ohm (This is a Chardonnay/Weissburgunder blend)
Judging the wine by the label I thought that I was bringing some ultra-fun to drink at the beach glou-glou style kind of wine. Well, I was right and wrong at the same time as this is something really serious and ultra-fun wine at the same time. I became an instant fan of Kissinger so I bought more of this and also their Chardonnay.
2021 Seckinger R Chardonnay Pure
I can see the similarities between German Chardonnay and Jura. Although I think that this wine is still very young and it’ll gain weight and complexity with age, it was a perfect complement to the seafood paella, as its sharp acidity cut it through that dish as a razor blade. No need to squish a lemon over the paella with this wine pairing.
