It’s an interesting story, and there are some questions for survival despite Chinese dumping. Cheap labor may also be threatened. Interesting times.

I’ve been growing my own, which lets me grow different varieties. It’s been a relatively easy crop to grow, but then again I don’t rely on my garden’s success to pay my bills. I do buy Christopher Ranch’s organic garlic on occasion.

One of my largest customers makes all the corrugated boxes for that garlic.

Down the road is Salinas which is another huge produce area.

You haven’t lived until you’ve been to the Gilroy Garlic Festival, where you can sample everything from garlic ice cream to garlic wine! Honestly, once was enough, but this year’s event, which takes place over three days at the end of July, is already sold out…
