I was worried that the Montenidoli would get crushed by the Castell’in Villa, but to be honest, I’m not sure I could pick a favorite here tonight.

2006 Castell’in Villa Chianti Classico Riserva Poggio delle Rose - Italy, Tuscany, Chianti, Chianti Classico DOCG (3/27/2020)
I’m two for two tonight - another great Chianti here, although quite different than the Montenidoli. A little funk on the nose here, and the fruit here is “darker-toned”, but this is delicious.
I would have difficulty picking a favorite between these two wines.

2010 Montenidoli Sono Montenidoli Toscana IGT - Italy, Tuscany, Toscana IGT (3/27/2020)
Gorgeous - seamless and expansive on the palate, red & black fruit - wow, is this in the zone right now. One of those wines where it’s drinking so well at the moment that I may not even bother trying to age a few, as it’s hard to envision it getting any better.
