When I went to Piedmont last year, I enjoyed wines from Franco Conterno. They do not seem to be available in the U.S.
Has anyone had experiences with Franco Conterno they can share and/or know how to get the wines?
Also, is anyone able to explain the relationship, if any, between all the Piedmont Conternos - Aldo, Franco, Diego, Giacomo?
Aldo and Giovanni were sons of Giacomo. They split the winery in 1969, splitting the stocks. Now their sons run their respective wineries. I don’t know of any direct relationship between these two and Franco or Diego.
Don’t forget Paolo. Any knowledge to share on him/them?
Franco Conterno is not closely related to the Aldo/Giacomo Conterno family, i believe they have great uncles in common.
Diego Conterno is a relatively new winery, Diego used to run the Conterno Fantino winery but branched off on his own.
I’ve reached out to Franco C. to ask who their US importer is… they have a few different ones for different states i believe.
