✨ Fontaine (Bennuaine) /// Hand-Blown European Titanium Crystal Stemware

Yes, I love the Caol Ila 18! I’ll be honest, the Midleton was a bit thin and while it seemed well made, sort of lacked the punch of flavors. I’ve been in a bit of a bourbon phase so maybe the high proof bourbons muted the Midleton in comparison. But, I feel I also got more out of a typical Green Spot or any of the Redbreast iterations. I saw the recent price increases this past year for the Midleton Very Rare and will probably divert those dollars to other Irish whiskey offers.

The Middleton Very Rare 2019 is quite good. The 2021 is not even close to the '19. I agree, the price hike on the Very Rare is stupid.

I just ordered the Connoisseur Bundle. Looking forward to trying them.

Hey Dennis, thanks for your order and welcome to the craziness of Berserker Day!

I bought 8 of the originals earlier, I thought that would be enough. Now you have to go ahead and come out with the tumblers…guess I have to buy more :joy:…and a carrying case.

I ended up buying the 4 pack, plus one extra to make it a set of 5 - The Asian traditionalist in me wouldn’t feel right buying a set of 4 :skull: .

Looking forward to the T&T bundle for the scotch and mezcal pours! and just sneak in the order before 9am same day ship

In for the glass tumbler bundle.
Curious how these compare to my Glencarins that I’ve used for years.

Sorry! Too many Berserkers asked and I have a Santa Claus complex. I like giving the people what they want!

Thanks for the order, Joe! What mezcal are you enjoying these days?

Pretty well I hope  But please share your thoughts after you try!

I agree, I found the previous versions of the Midleton Very Rare to be very good and the price point on those one made it “worth” it to me. My perceived decline in the 2021 version coupled with the huge price jumps, not sure I’ll ever go back for more in the future.

Quick question, can these tumblers hold a large cube? Call me a Neanderthal, but I like some bourbons with a cube and a Luxardo cherry.

However you enjoy your whiskey is the best way to drink it!

That said, ice cube size wise…

A 1.25 inch cube would would fit or if you want more ice, you could do a tall Collins cube and just snap it in half.

Im enjoying the tobala agave type lately. the La Tierra de acre Tobala is a group favor as it has a sweet and fresh finish along with the smokiness

(bennuaine in the middle absolutely blew away the other two classic stems)

No doubt. The best spirits glass on the market. It’s doing for spirits what zalto did for wine.

Is there a taller and shorter stemmed versions?

Love ya, Charlie! And your caviar! It’s egg-cellent. Sorry, I definitely haven’t been drinking this morning.

Just the one stem height. The slightly taller stem, if you’re looking at Charlie’s photo, is a Riedel glass that in my opinion is way too narrow and over concentrates ethanol. Honestly everyone I know who has tried it likes it less than Glencairn.

Exactly!

Friendly reminder to everyone that’s ordered (and there’s a lot of you!)… Make sure to drop a comment so you’ll be entered for the giveaway :upside_down_face: Seriously, you don’t wanna miss out on either of the prizes!

Let me bury BryanG’s reminder to add comments and improve my own raffle chances by adding a large, but relevant picture to this discussion :joy:

Using two Falkenstein corks as a real-life reference, you’ll see that the Glencairn glass is a touch larger on the opening compared to the Bennuaine. If you have a tough time adding your cubes to the Glencairn, it’d be harder in the Bennuaine.

Regardless, the Bennuaine is a must-have, and I pretty much always prefer it to the Glencairn when drinking Japanese Whisky, Irish whisky, or saké.
