Last year was a great Berserker Day for us and our Zinfandels. We are thrilled that you enjoy them so once again we make this offer so you can stock up for your family pasta Sunday or upcoming summer BBQ. Each of these wines has distinct characteristics, each worthy to stand alone proudly.
2018 Late Harvest Zinfandel - Sonoma County 16.3%
Our LHZ drinks more like an American red blend. With 14g residual fructose and no glucose the sweetness is more fruity than saccharine. Darker ruby port-like jammy fruits yet still retaining balancing acidity. Remarkably it is the best selling wine at Sugarloaf Wine Lounge, our tasting room.
2019 Bradford Mountain Zinfandel - Dry Creek Valley - Grist Vineyard 15.3%
Classic Bradford Mountain Zinfandel from Grist. You all know the pedigree of this site and our blend of Zin, Petite Sarah and Old Vine Syrah makes the best example of what it has to offer. If you have explored Dry Creek Zin for as lookng as I have you will recognize the Northern Dry Creek profile of this wine. It is not jammy but balanced and dry with a savory finish. Being Italian, “Cuore Mio” is how I feel about this wine. I use it in every red sauce, and drink it with every red-sauce based meal I make.
2021 Rockpile Zinfandel - Rockpile - Rocky Ridge Vineyard 14.7%
100% Zinfandel from one of the best blocks of Zinfandel in Rockpile. Back in 2016 we had to compete to get this fruit from “Uncle Chris” Mauritson. I feel that Rockpile is one of the few places where you can get Zin to stand alone without a little help from friends. 2021 was a lower ABV year compared to most for Rockpile so in turn it is more claret style than huge, but still brings that Christmas spice to the party along with the Zinberry fruit.
