Hi. A group (8 people ) are traveling to Bordeaux for the first time in October. I am the only one “into wine “. The rest of the group are more casual drinkers. We will have 3 days to wine taste. What wineries would you guys recommend we visit?
We just hire Henri Challeau, exchange ideas, and let him create the itinerary subject to approval. We have used him several times and will use him again. http://www.bordeaux-wine-travel.com/.
Thank you, but unfortunately he is not available
Too bad. He is great. I book him months in advance.

I have been to Bordeaux twice. Both times with Henri.
There is none better.

Some wineries I have really enjoyed visitng the most from my two visits there include
Mouton (their wine museum is fascinating with the original art from their labels)
Ducru Beaucaillou (just a beautiful place and the wines were great)
Haut Brion
Yquem (magical to be there)
Ferriere (between husband and wife got to try Ferriere, Haut Bages Liberal and Durfort Vivens)
Lafon Rochet (excellent value wines)
D’Issan may be neat for the others as the winery is kind of like an old castle of sorts.
Not sure what people not into wine are going to do in Bordeaux. They will probably get bored very easily. They might like things like the Discover our Permanent Exhibition more than going to wineries. Also, walking around the city of Bordeaux itself. Hope that this works out well and you don’t get too frustrated.
Thank you for your recommendations.
Had no issues in 2022 getting into Pichon Baron, Leoville Poyferre, Gruaud Larose, and Talbot via websites and email
Stayed on the Paulliac/St Julien border
I actually had no issues with those either. The right bank is proving a little more difficult. Received a reply from two wineries, the rest never even bothered answering my emails.
I found Troplong Mondot, Beau Sejour Becot, and Pavie all easy to book online in 2023.
Ok. Thanx
