Well, upon my first exposure, on Saturday, 11/26/2011, I acquired the taste instantaneously. It is just so interesting. My bottle will not last till New Year’s.
A rep came in today with a bottle of Meletti Amaro. I thought it was absolutely delicious. There was a sweetness to it, but not anything overbearing. Mint on the nose… on the palate there was anise, saffron, cardamom and orange peel. Really lovely stuff. Maybe this is training wheels until I can work my way up to the hard bitterness of Fernet, that’s fine with me.
