FedEx Is Coming Apart at the Seams

I have experienced some problems with shipping but also with the sellers some of whom are short on staff and some with untrained staff. I have received shipments with incorrect bottles as late as last week. One of my pre-arrival orders has arrived but is in a warehouse but the seller does not have the time to process what is in the warehouse. Times are not normal by any means. Or maybe this is the new normal.

The update:

since passing through Mahtomedi, Minnesota on November 8, my package has visited:

St. Paul, Minnesota
Fargo, North Dakota
Watertown, South Dakota
Lodgepole, Nebraska

as of Sunday November 14 it is supposedly in Rock River, Wyoming

They aren’t even projecting a revised delivery date…

Wow, reading through this thread is not for the faint of heart. I count myself lucky for only having a couple minor issues (and one major one) with fedex this shipping season. No issues whatsoever with UPS.

My two cases of Vincent took a vacation around Chicago for a few days. Thankfully they arrived today.

I have only one box left from summer orders - in Florida so will have to wait until December for that.

Of numerous Fedex shipments, all were on time except two–one was a day late and the other was a day early. The problem for me was the tracking info for those two shipments. Neither status flipped over to out for delivery and neither showed the correct delivery date. In normal times, I could have missed those boxes.

My fedex driver had her school age child with her while doing deliveries, although I guess schools were out for the holiday Thursday?

FedEx will love that.

If the kid can teach the driver how to use a doorbell, I’m good with it.

What is going on in Edgerton, KS? Because my recent shipments have all seemed to travel just fine from CA to there, and then come to a screeching halt. Not enough drivers, I assume.

I also chatted with my local driver a week or two ago. He said for non-driver folks working at the warehouse they are not only offering a very competitive wage, but also a bonus each week that you show up all five days you’re scheduled to work. It’s a battle out there!

sigh. My Andremily shipment was due to arrive today - 2nd day air, Oxnard to Portland, by way of…Memphis? Now (unsurprisingly) delayed.

FedEx’s main hub.

My driver had a trainee with him today. Keep ‘em coming!

I CAN’T EVEN…UPS and FedEx are the worst…they are hiding behind the pandemic, but it is a lame excuse for this pathetic display of incompetence. It is truly an embarrassing display and they should be ashamed…but they are not, they just keep coming with the excuses. [head-bang.gif] [swearing.gif]

FedEx stopped by today to deliver my Kinsman shipments and after the driver got out of the truck and opened the back, he got back in the truck (as I was going out to greet him) and drove away. Two hours later, I get the notification saying delivery was attempted and that the customer was not available. Turns out he read the wrong address on the package. Gotta wait another day…

lololol
I laugh because I feel your pain. Edgerton, KS is a black hole. (I live in Kansas) I’m with you, I strongly believe not enough workers.
I had 2 packages sent from Kinsman 2 day express on the same day. One went through the Ft Worth hub (delivered) and the other went to Memphis, and hasn’t left that hub yet. Cherry on top the weight says 64 pounds for 6 bottles on that package. :face_with_monocle:

I’ve always been a fan of Fed Ex prior to this year……but they really are pooping their pants lately.

No problems with UPS.

Memphis is killing us as well. We’ve lost so many caviar shipments due to potential spoilage when it enters into KS or TN when things are supposed to be overnighted. It just sits there for a night or more. Even with all the insulation and ice packs in the world it won’t stay cold for more than 2 nights.

Finally received my Andremily, barely. Oxnard to Oakland to Memphis to Portland. Been waiting all day, saw the driver go by - twice, then he headed down the hill, so I got in my car and chased him down (this is a first) - claimed he “couldn’t find the address”, gimme a break, they aren’t even trying. At least now it won’t sit in a warehouse all weekend.

I had a shipment of 5 cases, 4 were delivered to my house and one to FedEx Walgreens…

Wow! Just WOW!

As OP, I am back to say two shipments to clients were all on time, ID and PA, yesterday and today one via Ground and one Express Saver.
I must also say that the Express Saver went from on time delivery prediction, to a day early, to a day late and back to on time and delivered.
Improving.
I have been told they are migrating to some new tech improvements, whatever that means?..
