It was the 1978 Caymus ‘Grace’ Cabernet that blew my mind as well. A colleague was a close friend of Dicks (Grace was his stockbroker). The most delicate, refined Cabernets I had ever tasted from the new world. I saw a lot into the development of the Grace Estate, and those early wines were such a treat. Haven’t had a newer vintage in years.
Chardonnay - Hyde
Zinfandel - Pagani Ranch
Syrah - Colson Canyon
Cabernet Sauvignon - Too many to pick one
Is Aerika selling wine or just barrel sampling?
I am hearing they should release something this spring, but unclear
Based on my previous answer and thinking about OP and one vineyard, I rhink I have narrowed it down to Inglenook/Cohn as I love the Cabs and the whites that come off of it or To-Kalon as the Cab and Sauv Blanc are both great.
Monte Bello. As I can only pick one, that is it.
But, would also like to add:
Mount Eden, Geyserville and Napanook.
UV-SL for Pinot.
Can’t believe I can add one that hasn’t been mentioned that is truly my favorite. Of course, it probably really sucks, so don’t any of you go out looking for any. ![]()
