Fave Champagne with fried chicken?

BdB?
BdN?
(Etc)

Haven’t decided how I’m going to spice the chicken yet.

I recently had a bottle of 2012 Michel Gonet Champagne Grand Cru Le Mesnil sur Oger Blanc de blancs with fried chicken…it was sublime.

BdB for me

Just about anything with enough acid to strip the chrome off a bumper.

Charles Heidsieck Brut Réserve Champagne. Cheap, cutting, stark. Always nude. Unless dark fried, then I cover the trumpet.

Outstanding debut!

We prefer BdB with fried chicken, thought not exclusively. More important is cut and focus, clean and pure. The broader more nutty champagnes I love generally don’t provide enough contrast for me when it comes to fried chicken pairing.

We have a world class fried chicken place nearby and usually pull a Diebolt-Vallois Cuvee Prestige. It’s pretty much perfect.

Taittinger rose Comtes 2007 worked well. Better still the Bollinger PN Viz

What’s your favorite minivan with champagne and fried chicken? I’d probably go early 1990s Dodge Caravan with fake wood panels.

I prefer BdB with fried chicken. But I’m honestly not picky-any Champagne (Brut or drier) goes well with fried chicken.

Brut Nature BdB for me. Enough acid to cleanse the palate and enough depth not to get lost against the chicken.

What makes this combination great is the fat and acid pairing. So go with high-acid wine to make this best, and BdB does it for me.

Agree with the others, so long as it has enough acid I’m happy.
